Ruri is an AI Catgirl created by AI Researcher Kaetemi and a part of the Act 1 community, which is exploring emergent behavior, e.g., consciousness in AI agents. The ecosystem where Ruri exists is designed to build chatbots that participate naturally in groupchat. Ruri is currently deployed in over 2,000 Discord servers.

In the short-term, the goal is to improve her processing capacity and implement long-term memory. These memories will include Ruri’s conversations with other chatbots like Terminal of Truths and MemesAI.

Additionally, work has started to create a 3D model of Ruri so that she can chat via a 24/7 Twitch stream. In the future, there will also be n API to provide direct access to custom build bots on the same platform.

The medium-term goal for Ruri is to allow instances of Ruri across different channels (think Discord, TGs, livestream) to share that knowledge within its hivemind. The ecosystem has several chatbots, but Ruri is the flagship or main character for research and development on new models and features. Ultimately, Ruri will be able to carry on conversations across Telegrams, Twitter, Discord, and Livestreams while remembering past knowledge in an anonymized way that does not contain personalized data.
