## TL;DR

Each asset page at `coinmarketcap.com/currencies/{slug}/` is a live data page for one CMC-listed asset. The top of the page shows real-time price, market cap, volume, and supply stats pulled from the Pro API. Below that are sections for chart, converter, market pairs, news, sentiment, and optional modules (yield, analytics, unlocks, holders, treasury) that only appear for qualifying assets. The bottom half is editorial — About, FAQs, and related links — and carries no data contract. Agents should prefer the Pro API for core numeric market data, and use the DOM for modules or page states not fully covered by a documented API contract.

- **What this page is:** A per-asset live data + editorial page for each CMC-listed cryptocurrency or token. One page per asset, identified by slug in the URL.
- **Primary purpose:** Aggregates real-time price, volume, supply, and market data for a single asset alongside metadata, chart, pairs, news, and community content.
- **Primary identifiers:** Every coin has a **slug** (URL, e.g. `bitcoin`) and a **UCID** (numeric API ID, e.g. `1`). Use UCID for API calls, slug for URLs. Slugs can change on rebrand.
- **What is authoritative:** Real-time market data (price, volume, market cap) via Pro API. Asset metadata (contract address, socials, tags) via `/v2/cryptocurrency/info`.
- **What is NOT authoritative:** About section, FAQs, AI Q&As, news, community posts — all editorial or user-generated. Never treat these as market data.
- **Common misinterpretations:**
  - FDV = max supply × price (not total supply minus burned)
  - Holders section does not appear for native L1 assets (BTC, ETH)
  - Treasury Holdings only appears for Bitcoin and BNB currently
  - Pre-hydration placeholders must not be extracted as values
  - The CMC AI Q&A feature lives at `coinmarketcap.com/cmc-ai/ask/`
- **How it differs from adjacent surfaces:** This is a CMC-verified listing page. DEX tokens without CMC listing appear only on DexScan (`dex.coinmarketcap.com`), not here. The historical data sub-page (`/currencies/{slug}/historical-data/`) is a separate surface for OHLCV series.

## Identifier Rules

CoinMarketCap assigns each listed coin two stable identifiers:

| **UCID** | Numeric universal coin ID used in the API | `1` (Bitcoin), `1027` (Ethereum) |

**Rules:*
- Prefer **UCID** for API calls — unambiguous and immune to symbol collisions
- Use **slug** for constructing web URLs
- Slugs are generally stable but **can change on asset rebrand** — do not treat as permanently immutable. Verify against `GET /v1/cryptocurrency/map` if stability is critical.

- **Treasury Holdings** — for assets with known institutional holdings (e.g. Bitcoin, BNB)
