<p class="is-style-lead">Pseudonymous crypto trader GCR revealed that his X account was hacked through a bribe, leading to an ORDI pump-and-dump scheme.</p> 
<p>On May 26, the X account of pseudonymous cryptocurrency trader GCR (Gigantic Rebirth) was <a href="https://crypto.news/tag/hack/" target="_blank" rel="">hacked</a>, with attackers allegedly leveraging a bribe to promote two tokens on crypto exchanges.</p>

<p>GCR, a prominent figure in the cryptocurrency community, alerted his followers to the breach via an X post on another account, saying the bad actors took control of his original account and used it to shill <a href="https://crypto.news/tag/ordinals/" target="_blank" rel="">ORDI</a>, a BRC-20 token associated with the Ordinals protocol on the Bitcoin blockchain, and LUNA2, a token aimed to rescue the <a href="https://crypto.news/tag/luna-classic/" target="_blank" rel="">Terra Luna</a> ecosystem following the collapse of the UST stablecoin in May 2022.</p>

<p>Shortly after the hacked account posted about ORDI, the token’s price on Bybit soared from $38 to $46 before nosediving back to $40 within minutes.</p>

<p>While the identity of the hacker remains unclear as of press time, blockchain sleuth ZachXBT <a href="https://x.com/zachxbt/status/1794814443454652748" target="_blank" rel="">noted</a> on his X account that the hacker’s identity might be revealed within 12-24 hours, adding that the hacker “messed up and washed their funds poorly,” making it possible to track them through centralized exchanges.</p> 
<p>Multiple reports <a href="https://x.com/smileycapital/status/1794794315094298647" target="_blank" rel="">indicate</a> that the hacker allegedly opened large positions on various centralized exchanges prior to GCR’s account hack, potentially revealing their identity.</p>
