More than 50 Telegram usernames have found new owners.
Yesterday evening, the first Telegram username auctions kicked off on the
Fragment marketplace, which launched last week.
The
top five most expensive usernames were:
@auto — 900,000 TON
@bank — 850,000 TON
@avia — 800,000 TON
@chat — 700,000 TON
@fifa — 600,000 TON
The total amount spent on usernames came to about $9.12 million per Toncoin’s price at the time of writing.
Congratulations to the auction winners.
For example, you can assign your new username to a wallet and use that instead of a long wallet address.
To do so, you go to the NFT section in the
Tonkeeper crypto wallet, select the username, and tap “Link current wallet address” to assign the domain to your wallet’s address.
It’s worth noting that at the moment, only tokenized Telegram usernames minted on the TON blockchain have access to TON DNS functionalities — i.e., only those bought on
Fragment.
However, Pavel Durov has
promised that users would be able to sell their usernames on
Fragment to all Telegram users shortly.
