In Q1 2026 alone, Binance said its systems intercepted 22.9 million scam and phishing attempts. Those interceptions protected approximately $1.98 billion in user funds during the quarter. AI-driven tools now account for 57% of the exchange's fraud controls.
Crypto-related fraud reached $17 billion globally in 2025, a 30% increase from the prior year, according to Binance's own research. The exchange said AI has lowered the cost and complexity of attacks. Smart contract exploits now cost attackers as little as $1.22 per contract, down 22% month-over-month.
