Ferrari Plans To Launch Digital Token for Le Mans Car Auction
#Ferrari plans to launch a digital token allowing its wealthiest clients to bid on the Le Mans-winning 499P race car through an exclusive auction set to debut in 2027. The Italian automaker is partnering with fintech firm Conio to issue the Token Ferrari 499P for members of its Hyperclub.
The #Hyperclub consists of 100 elite clients with a passion for endurance racing, creating an exclusive network for the #token initiative. Enrico Galliera, Ferrari's chief marketing and commercial officer, stated the project aims to strengthen the sense of belonging among the company's most loyal customers.
Token holders will be able to trade among themselves and participate in exclusive auctions, with the 499P being the centerpiece offering. The initiative is scheduled to launch alongside the 2027 World Endurance Championship season, tying the digital asset program to Ferrari's racing calendar.
Ferrari has already established its presence in crypto payments, having begun accepting
$BTC,
$ETH, and
$USDC for car purchases in the United States in 2023. The service expanded to Europe last year, demonstrating the luxury carmaker's continued commitment to digital asset adoption.
The payment system does not require dealers to handle #cryptocurrencies directly, as customer payments are automatically converted into fiat currencies before reaching bank accounts. This approach allows Ferrari to accept crypto while minimizing operational complexity for its dealership network.
Conio is currently applying for a license under the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation and described the Ferrari project as a milestone in luxury #tokenization. Davide Rallo, Conio's chief fintech strategist, emphasized that the potential for development in this space is enormous.
