Coca-Cola, the world’s largest soft drinks brand, has launched its NFT collection on the new Coinbase layer-2 network Base.&nbsp; 
Coca-Cola has taken another stride into the digital art with its inaugural NFT collection on the Coinbase layer-2 network Base. 
As part of Coinbase’s “Onchain Summer” event, the beverage giant unveiled its Masterpiece collection, a fusion of revered artworks and contemporary creations intertwined with the iconic Coca-Cola bottle.

The Masterpiece collection encompasses artworks like Edvard Munch’s “The Scream” alongside contemporary pieces from emerging artists. This artistic amalgamation pays homage to Coca-Cola’s legacy while embracing the possibilities of digital creativity.

This venture marks Coca-Cola as one of the major consumer brands collaborating with Base. The list of forthcoming digital collectible projects includes Zora, Pixelmon, Showtime, and Indelible, collectively underscoring the burgeoning interest of established entities in the world of <a href="https://crypto.news/nft-theft-decreased-20-in-july-report/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">NFTs</a>. 
Coca-Cola’s engagement with NFTs goes beyond its current collaboration with Base. In August 2022, the beverage giant <a href="https://crypto.news/coca-cola-launches-surprise-nfts-on-polygon-network/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">surprised</a> NFT enthusiasts by airdropping NFTs to holders of its previous collections on the Polygon network. This endeavor aimed to enhance fan loyalty and celebrate International Friendship Day, echoing the company’s desire to bridge connections through virtual and physical experiences.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="nft-trading-volumes-decline">NFT trading volumes decline</h2> 
While Coca-Cola’s foray into the NFT space is captivating, the NFT trading landscape has recently experienced a downturn. 
A report by DappRadar in April 2023 highlighted an 18.76% decline in NFT trading volume, amounting to $1.4 billion. Additionally, the sales count saw a 9.72% decrease, and the number of NFT traders hit a 20-month low with 364,911 traders. 
Amid these fluctuations, the NFT space remains dynamic, embracing diverse influences. A new anime project named “House of Lee,” inspired by martial artist Bruce Lee, has been unveiled. Speculations suggest an NFT angle due to involvement from Shockunit, a Chinese animation studio known for NFT-based projects, and animation artist Emily Yang, renowned for NFT animation. 
Former U.S. President Donald Trump has joined the NFT bandwagon, holding Ethereum-based digital collectibles valued up to $500,000. This move underlines the NFT phenomenon’s reach, touching even political spheres.
