Elon Musk filed a lawsuit against OpenAI and CEO Sam Altman for breaching contractual agreements developed for the benefit of humanity.&nbsp;
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla expressed his dismay toward OpenAI’s relationship with tech giant Microsoft, for breaching a contractual agreement. On Thursday, he filed a lawsuit against the platform in San Francisco Superior Court. Musk claimed that OpenAI, its CEO Sam Altman, and Microsoft combined, operating for profits despite the benefit to humanity.

Elon Musk once again attacked OpenAI, its CEO and Co-founder, Greg Brockman. This time the case was related to breaching the contract that was signed by Musk and OpenAI in 2015 for developing an open-source, non-profit company for the benefit of humanity, using Artificial Intelligence.
Both Sam Altman and Greg Brockman approached Musk to work on AI technology for the “benefit of humanity”. Musk stepped down from the company’s board in 2018.
According to Musk, Sam Altman and OpenAI betrayed the agreement and indulged in activities to maximize profits for Microsoft despite benefiting humanity.
“Microsoft has compromised <a href="https://www.thecoinrepublic.com/2024/02/22/the-latest-deal-that-took-openai-valuation-to-80-billion/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">OpenAI’s</a> goal to benefit public, open source artificial general intelligence”, stated Musk in the suit.
The tech giant, under its new board, is not just developing but is purifying an AGI to enhance profits for Microsoft, Musk added.
Breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and unfair business approaches against OpenAI are some of the claims addressed by Musk. He also requested OpenAI to strike back to open source along with preventing the firms from earning profits using artificial general intelligence technology.&nbsp;
ChatGPT, the chatbot from OpenAI was introduced in November 2022, as an open-source and accepted worldwide within six months of launch. The platform further launched GPT-4, in March 2023.
According to Musk, GPT-4 remains a closed model as all the internal details are known to OpenAI and Microsoft, which is against the contract.&nbsp;
“Intractable to the agreement, both the companies have chosen GPT-4 for profits and not for the benefit of humanity”, added Musk.
However, Microsoft is not named as a defendant in the lawsuit; Microsoft acquired complete licensing to GPT-3 in 2020.
Additionally, Elon Musk sued Microsoft for using X data for its training of its AI. Musk filed a lawsuit after Mashable and other publications addressed that Microsoft would decline X from its advertising platform.
In the continuously evolving world, data ownership is rapidly becoming a fraught battleground in the productive AI rush.&nbsp;

The platform continuously evolved with time and introduced new products for the effective use of AI to solve difficult problems with accuracy. ChatGPT, ChatGPT-4, and DALL-E are a few of the main products introduced by OpenAI.
Additionally, the company joins Google and Meta in generating Billions in revenue and hit $2 Billion in revenue in 2023.
