Crypto analyst Jaran Mellerud highlighted this trend, emphasizing the continent's potential in a recent tweet, according to <a href="https://ultramining.com">Ultramining</a>.

The chart, sourced from Hashlabs, showcases the top 10 African countries by hydropower capacity. Ethiopia leads the pack with 4.1 GW, followed by Angola with 3.7 GW, and Egypt with 2.8 GW. DR Congo and Zambia both have 2.7 GW, while Mozambique and Nigeria have 2.2 GW and 2.1 GW, respectively. Ghana and Sudan round out the list with 1.6 GW and 1.5 GW each. 
Hydropower is a key factor for sustainable Bitcoin mining due to its low environmental impact and cost efficiency. This abundant renewable energy resource positions these African nations as attractive destinations for mining operations. With the increasing global focus on sustainable practices, African countries could see significant investment in their mining infrastructure.
