TEKKON Informatic (Jan 2023)Activities to protect infrastructure by Citizens are expanding everyday!The Whole Earth Foundation (WEF) is an NPO organization that provides and operates “TEKKON”, an application that checks the status of infrastructure using citizens’ power.Using the Web3 application “TEKKON” as a tool to collect images of “Manholes” and “Utility poles” from citizens. We will work with citizens to inspect these infrastructures across the country.We will solve the social problem of “aging infrastructure” by providing these images collected by citizens to local governments and infrastructure companies for use in their management and maintenance. Furthermore, these activities would result in low-cost operations and the provision of safe and affordable basic life-line services to the next generation.Circle of TEKKON spread by participation of citizensThe results of the cooperation of citizens since the public launch on October 17, 2022 are as follows:<img src="https://academy-public.coinmarketcap.com/optimized-uploads/e008a1c5ad7a4be6a99300bfe893788a.jpeg" />Surpassed 2.19 million of Manhole images collected by citizens and the post is doubling every day!Citizens play TEKKON before going to work, during their lunch break and on their way to back home. Also, through many manhole events, the number of posts is steadily increasing.Currently, 2.19 million manhole data have been collected. (As of Jan 30,2023)<img src="https://academy-public.coinmarketcap.com/optimized-uploads/d0ad34f68a3848a5b8752fda1b37ae4a.png" />In addition, the utility pole has been added to TEKKON as a new targeted infrastructure in October.The number of posts on utility poles is increasing by hosting “Utility pole hunting” events in Shibuya, Japan and Manila, Philippines. More than 106,000 data have been posted in last 4 months. The social movement “TEKKON” powered by the citizens are expanding day to day.<img src="https://academy-public.coinmarketcap.com/optimized-uploads/e3c504b8f61b4b5e9467894a326ae036.jpeg" />The cumulative number of reviews that determine the conditions of infrastructure deterioration has exceeded 40.8 million, and the number of inspection has exceeded 700,000&#43;Many citizens also help with the review function, which improves the accuracy of data by allowing multiple people to check the collected infrastructure images with the eyes of a third party. The review function is for judging the status of deterioration and it has increase to 40.8 million, and the inspect function for re-surveying posted images on-site has increased to 700,000&#43;.<img src="https://academy-public.coinmarketcap.com/optimized-uploads/7584ec4559524b36a29abce0e3c91477.jpeg" />Lifeline infrastructures such as water lines, manholes, utility poles and guardrails are essential to our lives. It is essential not only in Japan or the Philippines or Indonesia but globally, and aging of these infrastructures is a major social issue.Whole Earth Foundation believes that there is a way to have the general public participate in the problem-solving process and prevent infrastructure from collapsing.
