What a way to start 2023! January was a month for fantastic development updates, community growth, and getting everything organized to rock the rest of the first quarter.Keep scrolling down and read all the updates we have for January.I. Game DevelopmentWe don’t want to brag, but our game development team made notable updates and progress, as always.The ‘GameDevs’ started the month by refining and rendering the idea of having a universal body type in Moonland.The UBT, as they call it, was an idea between the dev and concept art team. After a reunion, they knew they needed to find a way to generate more characters without becoming a nightmare once they integrated other props, such as the jetpacks. For instance, it’s a lot simpler to have the jetpacks connect to one spot of the body on all characters, and that’s when the idea to create the UBT came into place.<img src="https://academy-public.coinmarketcap.com/optimized-uploads/161a8d9cfd934b579398e0f6176fe7f3.png" /><img src="https://academy-public.coinmarketcap.com/optimized-uploads/f228e6ae88c14f58ae2b783a4aa1ca06.png" />And almost at the end of the month, we saw the first Moonland character with the UBT! This is when we first saw the new enemies, the meta pods, or you might identify them as the bugs.In addition, they built a virtual sandbox that expands over 64 miles of the digital playground.The team is now working on adding special sound effects, all made from scratch. As the concept and development team keeps developing open-world gaming in the metaverse, the community keeps growing and engaging with excitement to see what’s next!II.
