Liquidity pools are the targets for exploits and hacks. Pools are frequently subjected to liquidity drain and other manipulations that lead to asset imbalance in the pool and unsuspected outcome of the trade for a user. Besides exploits that are fairly visible and comprehensive in their nature, there are some events that go unnoticed in the liquidity pools, these include:<ul><li>Money Laundering</li><li>Exploits</li><li>Smart Contract Manipulations</li></ul><img src="https://miro.medium.com/v2/resize:fit:1400/0*hk7MA9J6p0vmvvy4" />As such Pool Monitoring in the nutshell is a feature that allows to preventatively identify risk of any Liquidity pool manipulation as well as display comprehensive analytics on what is currently going on in the given pool.With HAPI’s Liquidity Pool Monitoring, DeFi protocols (DEXes, Lending Protocols, etc) essentially are able to track the activity of the pool in real-time, configure alerts for specific events in the pool such as a stark liquidity increase in the pool for a specific token or track a particular address’ interaction in the pool.Liquidity Pool Monitoring operates non-invasively by connecting to liquidity pools by accessing RPC nodes. To parse transactions and display relevant analytics an indexer is used. Data then is visualized with the help of data visualization tools. Alerts can also be easily set up on the dashboard and configured to fit the needs of the customer.The current Metrics for Liquidity Pool Monitoring include an extensive dataset:<ul><li>Total trade volume by token in a pool: sum of all traded amounts</li><li>Total transaction count by pool</li><li>Unique address transaction count by pool</li><li>Current LP price by pool</li><li>Liquidity increase by toke in a pool</li><li>Liquidity decrease by token in a pool</li><li>Stake increase by pool</li><li>Stake decrease by pool</li><li>Total count of system smart contract operations by type (redeployments, admin calls, etc)</li><li>Total count of pool configuration actions by pool</li></ul><img src="https://miro.medium.com/v2/resize:fit:1400/0*Y6pC7wv05CO0vCub" />Alerts can be attached to every metric and severity of change for alert initiation can also be configured. For example when a deviation from the norm is too high an alert will be actuated.
