Hey, Swappers! The last period has been full of news, and many more are on the way! Above all, <a href="https://metalswap.me/ETHGoldProp" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">The GOLD Proposal</a> was successfully voted in by the DAO! Soon the MetalSwap dApp will have a new Asset!<h2 id="header-0">The 12th Dec at 23:59GMT we declared Finished the Swap Competition #3</h2>the last to have taken place on our V1 contracts, which we will call Legacy from now on.The next Swap Competition is already started on the V2, and we published a Medium explaining it.So it’s time to recap all the stats we collected on the V1 and the importance of them to set our way for the future.<h2 id="header-1">⚡SwapCompetition V1 — What we learned</h2>The three Swap Competitions we did on the First version of MetalSwap ‘s Hedging Swap Tool has been crucially important for testing on ETH MainNet the practical efficiency of our Audited contracts, we have gathered a lot of statistics that allow us to understand the present and take decisions about the direction we should move in the future.<h2 id="header-2">Data</h2>Total number of Hedging Swaps326 divided as follows:<ul><li>166 on ETH/USDT- meaning the 50% of the TotalWith a Total Target Size of 96,05 ETHand an average Cover of 20,64%</li><li>116 on USDT/ETH- 35% of the TotalWith a Total Target Size of 57898 USDTand an average Cover of 16,93%</li><li>19 on WBTC/USDT- 5,8% of the TotalWith a Total Target Size of 2,12 BTCand an average Cover of 14,33%</li><li>25 on USDT/WBTC- 7,7% of the TotalWith a Total Target Size of 56150 USDTand an average Cover of 18,63%</li></ul>As we can see, ETH has been the most swapped Asset, probabily due to its higher volatility than WBTC and our Swappers took generally a short view of the market, opening a total of 56% of Swaps covering the lowering of the price values.By the way, who swapped to hedge their ETH or BTC Assets against volatility made a good choice as since 13 September ETH has lost 28% and BTC 24%.The Average Cover across all the Swaps was 18%, meaning that swappers preferred to have small hedges with a relatively low liquidity block.MetalSwap ‘s dApp V1 with its Swap Competitions gave its users a few more than 20k USDT in Profitsand the Liquidity Reward Distributed to the Swappers is a total of 6319 $XMTPremiums Collected Our Smart Contracts took as Premium a total of 3.40 $ETH, 3188 $USDT and 0.06598 $WBTC — 80% of those Premiums is used to buyback $XMT in the spot market and re-distribute it to our Swappers!<h2 id="header-3">Other stats &amp; data</h2><ul><li>We had 55 Liquidated Swaps which allowed us to mainnet test our system the liquidators and monitor the liquidation processes</li><li>This good use of Swaps allowed us to refine the visualisation of the whole the dApp</li><li>The feedback from Swappers has allowed us to generate Docs with clearer explanations and a new Landing page that folds the tool effectively</li><li>We tested the 10% Cover, a feature not present in the Kovan Testnet that was previously set on a minimum of 20%</li><li>Thanks to Swapper ‘s activities, we’re continuosly monitoring the performance of liquidity pools and balances</li><li>We test in Mainnet the system of manual early closure of Open orders</li></ul>We are confident that keeping the focus on these stats also on V2 will help us to get a good view of the present in order to better plan for the future! ;)Stay tuned, dear Swappers, the next Swap Competition is just started on MetalSwap ‘s dApp V2!What a time to be in DeFi!<h2 id="header-4">⚠️Warning⚠️</h2>❗ METALSWAP ‘s admins or moderators will NEVER contact you directly on any social under any kind of circumstances.❗ Everything concerning $XMT ‘s smart contracts and addresses is shared by our official channels (list below), do not trust any different info from any different source.To the MetalSwap!… and beyond!-The DeFi Foundation<h2 id="header-5">✎ What is MetalSwap?</h2>MetalSwap is a decentralized platform that allows hedging swaps on financial markets with the aim of providing a coverage to those who work with commodities and an investment opportunity for those who contribute to increase the shared liquidity of the project.
