Singapore-based <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/bitdeer-pioneers-crypto-mining-expansion-with-norway-and-bhutan-data-centers/">Bitdeer</a> is cementing its operations in Norway, having acquired the owners of the land <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/bitcoin-mining-reshaping-landscape-amid-global-interest-surge/">hosting</a> its bitcoin mining facilities. The $30 million-plus deal involves purchasing 100% of Troll Housing AS and Tydal Data Center AS, according to <a href="https://theminermag.com/news/2024-04-09/bitdeer-acquire-bitcoin-mining-land-norway/">TheMinerMag</a>. 
Before this acquisition, Bitdeer operated mining sites in Molde and Tydal on rented land from these companies, totaling 134 megawatts of electrical capacity. The payment arrangement includes a $15 million cash payment, a $15 million tradable loan with 6% interest spanning five years, and over 417,000 ordinary shares of Bitdeer’s BTDR, valued at approximately $3.3 million. 
The acquisition's full benefits are yet to be detailed, but it is known that Tydal Data Center has nearly 500 MW of power sourced from hydroelectric plants and wind farms. Bitdeer is also expanding the Tydal facility with a new 175MW immersion cooling capacity, slated for completion in mid-2025.
