The much-anticipated airdrop of the Arbitrum native governance token, <a href="https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/arbitrum/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">$ARB</a> happened last Thursday, to the buzz and excitement among thousands of early network interactors eligible to claim the token. Qualified users received between 625 to 10,000 $ARB tokens, which corresponds to around $1000 to $15,000, cool and free money because they got the information early. 



Although the Arbitrum airdrop hype was expected because it was one of the largest blockchain projects without a token, it exemplifies how community-driven projects can thrive in the crypto space regardless of competitors, technical challenges, market downturns, and regulatory uncertainty.



Arbitrum is not the first and would certainly not be the last project to distribute tokens to users. Aptos Labs launched the blockchain’s native token, $APT in October, airdropping 20 million tokens to eligible users who minted a specific NFT on the Aptos testnet. On launch day, it was worth over $1,500. Also, in February, layer-1 protocol Core DAO airdropped 1.2 million tokens to individual users.

With this trend, the prospect of earning free tokens has instilled excitement around users looking to hunt for the next opportunity. The interesting part of airdrop farming is that it benefits the network issuing the tokens and the recipients. It helps the protocol attract liquidity and usage and gives users a sense of belonging and financial rewards. With this, many blockchain networks will continue to adopt the strategy.



We have compiled a list of 3 potential airdrop opportunities to watch in the next few months.



<h4 id="starknet">StarkNet</h4>



<a href="https://www.starknet.io/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">StarkNet</a> is a permissionless and decentralised protocol that works as a secondary network on the Ethereum blockchain. It allows any decentralised application to have unlimited computational capacity without sacrificing the security and compatibility of Ethereum.&nbsp;



StarkNet has deployed its token on the Ethereum Mainnet, with its ticker symbol as $STRK; it is, however, not up for sale yet. The foundation is still contemplating the mechanism to distribute the tokens, which means there is a high possibility of an incoming airdrop. 



The best chance to receive a $STRK airdrop is to interact with their testnet. Moreover, some protocols on StarkNet also do not have a token yet. Using their dApps could put you in a position to receive their airdrops, allowing you to earn additional rewards.

<h4 id="sui-network">SUI Network</h4>



Created by former senior leaders of Facebook’s (Meta) advanced blockchain research and development organisation, <a href="https://sui.io/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sui Network</a> aims to be a step-function advancement in blockchain technology that will allow creators and developers to build experiences for web3 users.



The $SUI token is the native token of the Sui platform and has a max supply of 10 billion tokens. There is currently no $SUI token airdrop. However, the Sui team emphasized in a <a href="https://sui.io/resources-tokenomics/sui-token-allocation/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">post</a> that they will prioritise the distribution of $SUI tokens to early community members. The team also said that those already spreading knowledge about Sui, onboarding developers, and testing and refining its applications will be part of Sui’s token allocation.

<h4 id="scroll">Scroll</h4>



<a href="https://scroll.io/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Scroll</a> is a Zero-knowledge rollup (ZK-rollup) fully compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). It is another highly anticipated project recently hinting at a token airdrop. The potential is massive because there are projections that ZK-rollups could be one of the strongest performing sectors in 2023, as demand for Ethereum scaling solutions is increasing.



Scroll does not have a token yet, but it is expected to be released around the mainnet launch in the year&#8217;s second quarter. Their roadmap <a href="https://discord.com/channels/853955156100907018/932542092805308427/932542170903216168" target="_blank" rel="noopener">published</a> on Discord mentioned that they are creating an incentive mechanism to encourage participation in the network. This indicates that a token will be coming soon and will be airdropped to reward early users.
