Grayscale has released its updated list of the top 20 cryptocurrencies with the highest potential for the fourth quarter of 2024. In the report, the leading asset manager made several changes, removing six altcoins from the previous list and replacing them with new projects that show great promise.

As The Bit Journal reported, Grayscale holds a prominent position in the crypto world. Grayscale Research, the research arm of the company, has released a new list of the top 20 <a href="https://thebitjournal.com/sui-set-to-surpass-litecoin-on-crypto-top-20-list-erc20-altcoin-backed-by-analysts-forecasted-to-1000x/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">coins</a> with the highest potential for the final quarter of the year. The list considers various factors such as potential catalysts, network adoption, and risk factors. In total, six new digital assets have been added to the list: Sui (SUI), Optimism (OP), Helium (HNT), Bittensor (TAO), UMA Protocol (UMA), and Celo (CELO). 
Grayscale highlights Sui and Optimism as representing high-performance infrastructure. The report notes that Sui, a third-generation blockchain, has surpassed Solana in transaction speed, positioning itself as a potential “Ethereum killer.” Notably, Solana’s native token (SOL) still remains on the list.

<h2 id="six-coins-in-six-coins-out">Six Coins In, Six Coins Out!</h2> 
Grayscale also mentions the “Superchain” blockchain network, which shares an open-source tech stack and powers Optimism. UMA, an oracle network, is expected to benefit from the rising popularity of the prediction market Polymarket. Meanwhile, Grayscale expects Celo to see an uptick due to increasing stablecoin adoption. The research team also included Helium for its ability to enable IoT devices through a blockchain-based network and for its steady revenue generation. 
Lastly, Bittensor is being recognized as a standout AI project, aiming to combine AI and blockchain to enhance the decentralization of artificial intelligence. However, Grayscale removed six coins from the list: ThorChain (RUNE), Raydium (RAY), Render Token (RENDER), Mantle (MNT), Pendle (PENDLE), and Illuvium (ILV).
