<a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/luxor-innovates-with-extended-contracts-and-daily-settlements-for-enhanced-bitcoin-mining/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Luxor</a> Derivatives has announced that the cumulative trading volume of its over-the-counter (OTC) <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/bitcoin-miners-set-for-a-tough-ride-as-2024-halving-nears-jp-morgan/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">hash rate</a> derivatives has exceeded 500 EH/day. This is a significant milestone for the market, considering that the total Bitcoin network hash rate is around 350 EH/s.
Hash rate derivatives allow miners and investors to hedge against fluctuations in mining profitability. Luxor Derivatives offers contracts for difference (CFDs), providing liquidity and flexibility for market participants. Over the last quarter, the company executed deals worth over $100 million.
Matthew Williams, Director of Derivative Products at Luxor, noted that the growth in trading volumes indicates increased interest in risk management within the <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/texas-residents-challenge-bitcoin-mining-industrys-impact-on-power-grid-and-communities/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">mining industry</a>. He stated that the company plans to expand its range of derivative products and enter new markets.
