At the UN Summit of the Future, Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced a $120 million Global AI Opportunity Fund aimed at enhancing AI education and training worldwide. Pichai described AI as “the most transformative technology yet,” highlighting its potential to improve lives and support sustainable development. 
Pichai identified four key areas where AI can make a difference: helping people access information in their own languages, speeding up scientific discoveries, providing alerts for climate disasters, and boosting economic growth. However, he also acknowledged the risks associated with AI, such as deep fakes. 
Pichai <a href="https://blog.google/inside-google/message-ceo/united-nations-keynote-2024/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow">emphasized</a> the importance of avoiding a global “AI divide.” To achieve this, Google plans to collaborate with local nonprofits and NGOs to ensure that AI education reaches underserved communities.&nbsp; 
He stressed the need for smart regulation of AI technologies to prevent harm and avoid protectionist measures that could limit the benefits of AI. 
By investing in education and responsible regulation, Google aims to empower communities and ensure everyone can benefit from advancements in AI. This initiative reflects a commitment to harnessing technology for positive change and fostering inclusivity in the digital age.
