<p>Chain abstraction pioneer Particle Network, along with multiple leading <a href="http://thenewscrypto.com/news/blockchain-news/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">blockchain </a>ecosystems in the Web3 scene, has introduced the Chain Abstraction Coalition, an initiative designed to solve one of the most persistent problems in Web3: Fragmentation.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Blockchain fragmentation results in different challenges for Web3’s users and developers, stagnating the ecosystem’s growth and innovation while ultimately hurting its user experience. Through the adoption of chain abstraction (ChA) technologies, the Chain Abstraction Coalition aims to put an end to this problem.</p>
<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-what-is-particle-network">What Is Particle Network?</h2>
<p>Formed in 2022, <a href="https://particle.network/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Particle Network</a> has quickly emerged as a major participant in Web3. With investments by firms like Gumi Crypto and Spartan Group, the company secured $25 million in funding. Particle Network also received additional backing via notable names like SNZ, HashKey Capital, Flow Traders, SevenX Ventures, and Morningstar Ventures.</p>
<p>Particle Network’s core offering is constituted by a set of unique solutions that aim to simplify and enhance the Web3 experience through chain abstraction. The platform’s solutions have already been implemented into over 900 decentralized applications (dApps), safeguarding more than $2 billion in user assets as well as reaching over 17 million users overall.</p>
<p>One of the main aspects of Particle Network’s strategy is to introduce Universal Accounts. These innovations, already live and fully usable on Testnet, are accessible through <a href="https://pioneer.particle.network/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Particle Pioneer</a>, Particle’s Testnet. Universal Accounts allow users to maintain a singular account and balance across all integrated chains, enhancing user convenience and interoperability across blockchain platforms.</p>
<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-chain-abstraction-coalition">The Chain Abstraction Coalition</h2>
<p>The rapid implementation of blockchain technologies, with their accompanying technologies and practices, has brought many benefits to the Web, but also caused plenty of inefficiencies and complexities –with the most significant of these arguably being fragmentation. This led to the concept of ‘<a href="https://blog.particle.network/what-is-chain-abstraction-a-formal-definition/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Chain Abstraction</a>,’ which aims to simplify user interactions regardless of their underlying blockchain environment. Put simply, chain abstraction is an experience that aims to eliminate the manual processes that are typically needed to navigate multiple blockchains.</p>
<p>The Chain Abstraction Coalition, including blockchains like &nbsp;<a href="https://arbitrum.io/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Arbitrum</a>, <a href="https://www.berachain.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Berachain</a>, <a href="https://www.avax.network/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Avalanche</a>, <a href="https://www.bnbchain.org/es-LA" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">BNB Chain</a>, <a href="https://linea.build/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Linea</a>, and <a href="https://www.botanixlabs.xyz/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Botanix</a>, among others, aims to bring together a capable group of Layer-1 and Layer-2 blockchains to embrace chain abstraction as a way to consolidate user experiences and liquidity within Web3. Particle Network has identified this fragmentation as a critical barrier to the widespread adoption of Web3 technologies.</p>
<p>Particle has also announced that members of the Chain Abstraction Coalition will conduct a series of activities together. The first of these will be to collaborate through integrations of Particle Network’s Universal Accounts. On the <a href="https://pioneer.particle.network/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Particle Pioneer platform</a>, users of these blockchains will be able to familiarize themselves with Universal Accounts and chain abstraction, performing tasks that involve interacting with multiple chains (as Testnets) at once. Since different chains will be grouped together, these integrations receive the name of “Co-Testnets”. Different Co-Testnets will be announced in several waves by Particle Network over the coming weeks.</p>
<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-chain-abstraction-s-effects-on-web3">Chain Abstraction’s Effects On Web3</h2>
<p>Web3 faces an undeniable need for reliable solutions that are also easily accessible and manageable.&nbsp; By introducing standard chain abstraction practices, Particle Network and the Chain Abstraction Coalition seek to level the playing field and streamline user experiences to improve users’ asset engagement, optimizes resource allocation, and incentivize innovation within Web3.</p>
<p>On this, Pengyu Wang, CEO of Particle Network, has commented: “by working together as an industry to promote chain abstraction and solutions like Universal Accounts, we can overcome fragmentation and accelerate widespread adoption of this transformative technology.”</p>
