Ubisoft becomes a validator for XPLA, a blockchain network for digital media content and gaming.
Ubisoft, the gaming giant behind famous games like Assassin’s Creed, Watch Dogs, and others, recently became a validator for the XPLA, a blockchain network for gaming and digital content. The company’s main objective behind this is to create engaging games and give rewarding experiences for Web 3 players. Moreover, the company recently supported and explored various blockchain projects and NFT games.&nbsp;

Ubisoft is a well-known gaming leader that gave popular across-the-board franchises like Assassin’s Creed and Just Dance backing to the blockchain gaming field.&nbsp;
The company has been vigorously involved in diverse blockchain projects and initiatives as an investor and partner. It also constructed and released various non-fungible tokens (NFTs) based on its games and characters.&nbsp;
Recently, Ubisoft declared that it has joined the XPLA network as the validator. XPLA is a blockchain network that operates various decentralized applications (dApps). It also offers different reliable developer tools.
XPLA is established on the Tendermint blockchain engine, which uses Byzantine Fault Tolerant (BFT) consensus. The Tendermint blockchain engine is a secure and scalable network. It focuses on digital media content and gaming and has onboarded several crypto games, such as Summoners War and The Walking Dead.
After becoming a validator, Ubisoft will help verify the transactions and data on the XPLA blockchain. It also improves the performance and security. The company will also partner with other validators and developers on the network, such as Animoca Brands, Google Cloud, and Com2uS, to create a more transparent and trustworthy web3 ecosystem.
XPLA Team Lead Paul Kim stated that they are thrilled to welcome Ubisoft as an XPLA validator in a statement. Moreover, he also said that together, they will cooperate to create a more transparent and trustworthy Web3 ecosystem and provide an attractive gaming experience to players worldwide.
However, the Business Analyst for Blockchain Nodes at<a href="https://www.thecoinrepublic.com/2024/01/12/ubisoft-and-tencent-will-try-to-make-npcs-talk-with-nvidia-tools/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"> Ubisoft</a>, Laetitia Leclerc, stated in a press release that they are excited to join the XPLA mainnet as a validator and support its decentralized Web3 gaming ecosystem vision.&nbsp;
Laetitia added that this partnership opens exciting new perspectives for collaboration, as they aim to create engaging and rewarding experiences for web3 players and developers.&nbsp;
<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="strong-the-gaming-portfolio-strong">The Gaming Portfolio</h3>
It is not the first time Ubisoft has shown interest in blockchain gaming; it has also become a validator for other blockchain networks. Previously, it became a validator of Tezos, Hedera, and Cronos and has invested in and partnered with various blockchain gaming startups, such as Sorare, Axie Infinity, and The Sandbox.
The company also introduced its NFT platform, Quartz, which permits players to acquire and utilize the NFTs in games like Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint. It has also released NFTs based on its Rabbids IP and others via The Sandbox.
Moreover, the company is also preparing to launch its first NFT game, Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles, which will run on the Oasys blockchain. Ubisoft is one of the most active and influential gaming companies in the blockchain gaming industry, and it is likely to continue expanding its presence and portfolio.
