Initially, it took a year to sell only 20,000 units of <a href="https://news.todayq.com/solana-saga-and-its-impact-on-bonk-in-detail/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Solana’s first crypto phone</a>, but this recent surge in pre-orders for Chapter 2 within just 30 days indicates the growing demand for crypto mobile devices in this rapidly evolving cryptocurrency industry. With a substantial $45 million in funding, the company plans to deliver the new devices to customers by early 2025. 
Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko explained that the 100,000 pre-orders mark was a crucial condition for developing a second device. The economics for a more affordable second phone are now favorable, especially since the initial experimental phone faced challenges with its $1,000 price tag. Solana Chapter 2 features 
The second phone, like its predecessor, focuses on integrating crypto functionalities, specifically those on the Solana blockchain, into its core features. Yakovenko emphasized that the company aims to provide unique crypto-specific features, differentiating itself from mainstream competitors like Apple and Google.
Solana Mobile is notable for being the only crypto-enabled phone maker with a paying customer base. The success was sparked when customers realized each phone came with free tokens, leading to a sellout run on the initial device called Saga.
