<p>Japanese company Third Wave is set to disrupt the AI computing landscape by launching an innovative ‘GPU cloud’ service known as Raytrek Cloud. This service aims to make high-performance AI computing accessible to many users without top-of-the-line PCs or GPUs.</p>
<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="bringing-ai-to-the-masses">Bringing AI to the masses</h2>
<p>Third Wave’s Raytrek Cloud is designed to democratize AI computing. Users no longer need expensive hardware to run generative AI workloads, simulations, or computer-aided design (CAD). Instead, they can leverage Raytrek Cloud’s compute resources, making AI more accessible.</p>
<p>Third Wave unveiled its GPU cloud service at the Dospara Plus Synapse 2023 event, signaling its commitment to AI-driven servers and workstations. This initiative includes the Raytrek Cloud service and the development and distribution of hardware optimized for AI workloads.</p>

<p>Alongside the Raytrek Cloud launch, Third Wave introduced five new products. The X4630 workstation features a 4th-Gen Xeon Scalable processor and NVIDIA’s RTX6000 Ada GPU. This move aligns with the company’s recent reorganization, distinguishing between consumer gaming PCs under the GALLERIA brand and enterprise-centric hardware under Raytrek.</p>

<p>Third Wave’s strategic move into AI is driven by the recognition that we are experiencing an explosion in data production. The volume of data generated today is a staggering 60 times greater than a decade ago.</p>
<p>Conventional data centers used for cloud computing have raised concerns about power consumption. Third Wave anticipates that future AI systems will operate both on the cloud and on-premises, addressing these issues.</p>

<p>Raytrek Cloud allows businesses to access remote workstations through a desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) model. This capability is particularly useful for CAD and building information modeling (BIM) tasks.</p>
<p>Raytrek Cloud also caters to AI workloads, including generative AI and high-performance computing simulations. This opens up opportunities for businesses to harness the power of AI without substantial infrastructure investments.</p>

<p>Third Wave aims to become the most cost-effective AI cloud service provider. It aims to offer monthly fees that are half to a third less than major cloud providers, making AI accessible to businesses of all sizes.</p>
<p>Raytrek Cloud adopts a pay-as-you-go model, allowing users to leverage its services hourly or in smaller increments. This flexibility ensures that users pay only for the resources they use.</p>
