The Pepe price has recovered close to 20% since its current 2023 low, hit on September 17 - $0.000000594. 
After its price rise today the Pepe FDV is almost back at $300 million - but is this a deadcat bounce for the controversial meme coin or the start of a new uptrend? 
<h2 id="strong-pepe-price-predictions-strong">Pepe Price Predictions</h2> 
Widely-respected crypto trader with 65,000 followers Murfski (<a href="https://twitter.com/Murfski_/status/1704882191430263244" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">@Murfski_</a>) tweeted yesterday ‘only 50% left - capitulation soon’.&nbsp; 
He was referring to a drop from the $0.0000006 level to $0.0000003, where $PEPE consolidating for a week after first being listed on Uniswap back in April. 
He posted the Pepe price chart below marking out that support zone as a downside target.

Trader Koala, who has 19,000 followers, yesterday tweeted that the ‘$PEPE team really screwed it’ - referring to the multisig wallet breach and dumping of tokens from insider wallets. 
That tweet was in reply to another trader predicting a ‘glorious dead cat bounce’ for both PEPE and AVAX. 
Nebraskangooner, one of the largest crypto Twitter accounts with 309,000 followers, tweeted on Wednesday that the Pepe price is in ‘no man’s land’, has broken support and that he sees ‘no reason to buy at this level - knife catchers would be better off waiting for a dip into the green zone, still in a steady downtrend atm’.&nbsp;

<h2 id="strong-next-pepe-coin-contenders-strong">Next Pepe Coin Contenders</h2> 
Whether the Pepe price can fully recover and set new highs in the next crypto bull run remains to be seen. 
As Pepe still has a high market capitalization, traders are often seeking out the potential next Pepe token that may have greater upside, especially as a short term trade. 
Many meme coins return exponential gains before a deep correction, and most experts or ‘alpha callers’ recommend getting in and out early, rather than treating meme tokens as a long term investment.

The project is reminiscent of Shiba V Pepe with its theme of battling internet memes, however it has also added an entire play to earn crypto game ecosystem on top of that concept - players will be able to wager $MK on the outcome of AI-powered meme battles, according to the <a href="https://memekombattoken.gitbook.io/meme-kombat-whitepaper/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">whitepaper</a>. 
Yesterday alpha calls group ‘<a href="https://t.me/whalepumpgroup23/673" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Crypto Whale Pumps</a>’ noted that $MK has ‘potential to be massive’ and benefits from a doxxed team, unlike many anonymous meme coin developers. 
Both of the above two ‘next Pepe’ hopefuls also offer staking, which again sets them apart from some meme coins that offer little in the way of utility or reason to hold them.
