<p>Cosmos, the platform that operates on the internet of several <a href="https://blockchainreporter.net/glossary/blockchain-3-0/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">blockchains</a>, has recently announced the launch of Wormhole Gateway. As per the company, this move is focused on the increase of the interchain ecosystem. Cosmos took to X (previously named Twitter) to announce this development. In a blog post written on Medium, Wormhole noted that the Gateway links liquidity and clients from more than twenty-three blockchains to the whole interchain, with just 1 <a href="https://blockchainreporter.net/glossary/liquidity/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">liquidity</a> router.</p><h2 id="header-0">Wormhole Foundation’s Wormhole Gateway Leverages Cosmos SDK</h2><p>According to Wormhole Foundation, its Wormhole Gateway operates as an application-specific blockchain that is driven by the Cosmos SDK. While providing more details, the company disclosed that the purpose of Gateway is to assist widen access (as well as provide liquidity) to the interchain. In addition to this, it also attempts to increase sovereignty and security for the whole network of Wormhole.</p><p>The platform asserted that Gateway will let the above twenty-three linked blockchains be associated with interchain through just one IBC integration. It added that this will permit the consumers to create a bridge between the funds and any IBC-compatible chain while requiring zero extra bridging charges. Apart from that, it also discussed the significance of developing Gateway. The company stated that the development of Gateway was carried out with the use of the <a href="https://cosmos.network/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Cosmos</a> SDK as it assists elevate the sovereignty of Wormhole.</p><h2 id="header-1">The Endeavor Increases Security and Transparency</h2><p>According to Wormhole, this allows the firm to use IBC light consumers to enable liquidity transactions within the interchain <a href="https://blockchainreporter.net/glossary/digital-asset-ecosystem/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">ecosystem</a>. It moved on to say that this also advances the capability of Wormhole to facilitate the free stream of value and information across diverse blockchains. In the case of transparency, Gateway plays the role of an autonomous verification layer dealing with Wormhole messages, including a 2nd method of shield to the Guardian consensus mechanism of Wormhole.</p><p>Moreover, IBC’s use for transporting Wormhole messages lets Gateway leverage the time-tested protocol of IBC while decreasing the infrastructure above the Guardian network thereof. Furthermore, the modular interoperability forum of Wormhole enables free value flow across blockchains.</p>
