<p class="is-style-lead">There are reports of a significant hack that targeted Atomic Wallet, a non-custodial decentralized wallet. As a result, users are currently dealing with the consequences, with some reporting that they have lost their entire cryptocurrency portfolios.</p>



<p>Initial indications of the hack emerged from the crypto community on Twitter, with users expressing their distress over the complete loss of their funds. They voiced their concerns, urging the team behind the platform to provide a transparent and concise explanation in response to the situation.</p>

<p>On June 3, the<a href="https://atomicwallet.io/blog" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> Atomic Wallet</a> team took to Twitter, acknowledged the reports of compromised wallets, and assured users that they were actively investigating and analyzing the situation. The team also expressed their commitment to sharing further details as they become available.</p>

<p>Numerous users responded to the tweet, sharing accounts of their losses and stating that an attacker had wiped out funds from their <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/digital-assets/article/what-are-crypto-wallets/?sh=64f07f766a62" target="_blank" rel="noopener">digital wallet</a> app. The exact method used to carry out the attack remains undisclosed.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="strong-zachxbt-on-the-case-strong"><strong>ZachXBT on the case</strong></h2>



<p>To gauge the extent of the damage, on-chain investigator<a href="https://crypto.news/investigator-claims-bitbns-said-7-5m-hack-was-system-maintenance/"> ZachXBT</a> has urged affected individuals to share transaction hashes related to the stolen funds.</p>



<p>Based on the reports received thus far, ZachXBT has traced and confirmed the theft of funds amounting to over $14 million. However, the overall sum stolen is estimated to reach as high as $35 million.</p>

<p>The exploit has impacted more than 100 addresses, resulting in the theft of assets across various blockchain networks, including bitcoin (<a href="https://crypto.news/bitcoin-transaction-volume-hits-monthly-highs-as-coin-drops-below-27k/">BTC</a>), ethereum (ETH), tron (TRX), binance smart chain (BSC), and cardano (<a href="https://crypto.news/charles-hoskinson-bitcoin-ordinals-could-look-better-on-cardano/">ADA</a>), among others.</p>



<p>The illicit activities occurred between June 2 and June 3. The most significant individual loss reported is $7.95 million in USDT. According to ZachXBT, the five most significant losses combined totaled $17 million.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, the on-chain investigator has disclosed that approximately $1 million has been successfully recovered. He has assured the community that he will share further details regarding this recovery process.</p>

<p>In an alarming development, several malicious actors have taken advantage of the situation by disseminating <a href="https://medium.com/ngrave/4-common-crypto-phishing-attacks-how-to-avoid-them-e47510970c1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">phishing</a> links in comment sections, seeking to exploit unsuspecting victims.</p>



<p>ZachXBT has issued a cautionary message, urging the community to exercise utmost vigilance when encountering such tweets.&nbsp;</p>
