We chose this name to stress our determination to make it possible for everyone to create commercial-level content on SecondLive.This article will give a detailed description of our team’s ideas for developing Gobeti and the features of the latest version.<h3 id="strong-making-the-creation-of-nfts-as-easy-as-building-blocks-strong">Ⅰ. Making The Creation of NFTs As Easy As Building Blocks</h3>All of the engineers in SecondLive’s R&amp;D team have more than ten years of experience in PC and mobile game development. The development and production of games involve various tools, one of which is now called game engines. World-renowned game engines like Unreal, Unity, etc., are like building blocks. They help save time and effort in developing games. Drawing conceptual inspirations from game engines, our team sticks to three core concepts in the development of Gobeti:<ul><li>Ease to use with no requirement of professional background</li><li>Compatibility across scenarios</li><li>Forward-looking for XR technology</li></ul>These three concepts are derived from the team’s insights into game production from over ten years of experience. “Our user community is always the source of demand, and we form product features through full abstraction. Based on the principles of agile development, we maintain bi-weekly iterations,” said Vento, Gobeti’s R&amp;D director, “We want to provide a seamless user experience, not only in terms of compatibility across platforms and content sources but also in terms of user interactions. We will continue to make improvements based on our users’ habits.”Gobeti is currently in version 2.0. For example, in one of the optimization plans, through research on and expansion of gltf technology, we solved the issue of glb resources exportation and overturned the initial plan to separate texture, resource bank, and file archive, thus paving the way for subsequent iterations and cooperation with the website.Now we can happily share some functional upgrades in Gobeti 2.0 with you.We analyzed user feedback on the previous version and found that while professional creators paid more attention to the details during the design process, ordinary users preferred a simplified user experience.At the same time, with the addition of Avatar models of realistic characters to SecondLive, users have a corresponding need to create realistic style clothes. In response, we hope to make uploading such clothes more efficient and selling easier.Based on the above user demands, we have made four major upgrades in version 2.0.<ul><li>Feature 1: Optimization of model gender selection</li></ul>Users can now switch genders within the same icon for a piece of clothing. This feature makes the clothing selection page easier for users. Users will be able to find the content they need to base their designs on faster and more efficiently.<ul><li>Function 2: Directly download textures to create locally</li></ul>Users with a higher demand for creation details can choose a piece of clothing, download the corresponding blank texture to the local, and use editing tools with which they are more familiar to create their content. After completing their designs, they can easily upload their textures, view their locally-created content in Gobeti, and export it as they wish.<ul><li>Function 3: Added realistic clothing design function</li></ul>Users can select different types of clothing through the style-switching button on the selection page. Under each category of styles, there are various looks to meet the users’ diverse needs.<ul><li>Function 4: Uploading multiple versions of the same garment</li></ul>After exporting their designs into glb files, users can upload the resources to the SecondLive website. In the new version, we focus on guidance for uploading. We recommend that our users upload multiple versions of a design to meet different stylistic needs, foreshadowing future NFT sales.Through the constantly enriched Gobeti tools, creators can freely create costumes of their liking and use them immediately after submission. Soon, users will be able to create 3D interactive content in real-time with virtual characters wearing their costumes.We plan to introduce techniques that will give creators even more freedom, such as AI speech recognition and motion capture. We will launch these features promptly based on user feedback.In addition, as an open metaverse, SecondLive has taken XR as one of the essential goals to improve user experience since its establishment. Our attention to XR reflects the forward-looking-ness of our current Avatar system and UGC tools.
