At the end of summer, Pavel Durov, founder of Telegram Messenger, heaped praise onto the TON DNS auction.
Last week, the official Telegram Usernames channel informed its subscribers that the marketplace’s development had been completed and that Telegram username auctions would launch shortly.
We cannot wait for the moment when Telegram’s entire user base gets acquainted with the TON blockchain and takes its first step into the world of Web3.
Telegram Usernames Auction: what do we know so far?
▪️ All usernames are represented as NFTs on TON.
▪️ Usernames can be stored in crypto wallets and put up for auction on any NFT marketplace, including Telegram’s official platform.
▪️ The Telegram Auction Platform will operate by the same mechanics as the TON DNS auction: An auction begins as soon as a user places the first bid. Every auction will have a time restriction.
▪️ There will be no need to extend username ownership.
