Privacy-focused tech company Rarimo launched the RariMe app on June 27th, 2024. This digital identity verification solution is an alternative to Worldcoin, which uses orbs to scan eyeballs for identity verification. The RariMe app protects users’ privacy while allowing identity verification in the Web3 space. The company said it requires a smartphone to generate passport zero-knowledge proofs (ZKs). 
Rarimo focuses on developing innovative technologies within the digital asset and blockchain space. Their team is behind the launch of the blockchain-based referendum on the legitimacy of Vladimir Putin’s victory in Russia’s election. 
<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="strong-rarime-utilizes-passport-zkps-strong">RariMe Utilizes Passport ZKPs</h2> 
The RariMe app allows users to scan their biometric passports with their smartphones. This passport uses zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs) to verify the uniqueness of users without revealing their identity in the Web3 space. The RariMe app provides users access to a passport-derived profile. 
It has your personal details, facial photograph, active authentication public key, and more details. Passport ZKPs do not disclose personal data while confirming a user’s identity. The RariMe app will use passport ZKPs to drop programmable airdrops of Rarimo’s upcoming token. The first wave of airdrops is for charitable donations to users from Ukraine. 
Reportedly, co-founder of Rarimo provider Rarilabs Lasha Antadze said: “Privacy is freedom, and it no longer exists in online spaces.” 
“RariMe seeks to change this It will allow users to go incognito, interacting in a truly anonymous fashion across Web3,” she added.

Rarimo has introduced RariMe as a solid alternative to <a href="https://www.thecoinrepublic.com/2024/05/12/worldcoin-made-double-bottom-can-wld-register-breakout-ahead/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Worldcoin</a>. It uses ZKPs without compromising the user’s privacy while verifying identity. This newly launched app connects users with Web3 anonymously. 
Worldcoin uses orbs to scan users’ eyeballs to create proof of humanity while protecting privacy. A user needs access to World ID, WLD crypto token, and World app to confirm identity online. But, this project has faced a fair amount of criticism from privacy-conscious individuals because of how it collects biometric data.&nbsp; 
Earlier, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin expressed his worries about Worldcoin in a blog post. He argued that a person can scan someone else’s iris to determine whether they had a World ID. An article from MIT Technology Review claimed that Worldcoin used misleading marketing practices to gather more personal data than it acknowledged. 
Now, many individuals are expecting a reliable identity verification solution. They have high expectations from the RariMe app due to their big claims. The choice between both solutions comes down to the user’s priorities regarding privacy.&nbsp;

The RariMe app was introduced to improve privacy in digital interactions. Their passport ZKPs technology will likely become more prevalent as privacy concerns grow. RariMe could become the standard for identity verification as more services integrate with Web3.
