 Over the weekend, several influential figures and celebrities in the crypto industry had their X accounts hacked, leading to the promotion of various cryptocurrencies, such as Luna2, ORDI, and celebrity-themed memecoins.

One of the notable victims was Gigantic-Cassocked-Rebirth, or GCR, a well-known pseudonymous cryptocurrency investor. On May 26, GCR’s X account posted about ORDI and Luna2.0, causing a brief spike in both tokens by 6% and 274%, respectively.&nbsp;
GCR, who is renowned for making profits from contrarian trades, confirmed that their X account was <a style="color: #0000ff;" href="https://twitter.com/GiganticRebirth/status/1794790262633611711?t=m-8tHhSQhtKlRlzIL6FWlg&amp;s=19" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">compromised</a> after few hours after the post went live.&nbsp;
GCR <a style="color: #0000ff;" href="https://x.com/GiganticRebirth/status/1794811343725293895" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">claimed</a> that employees of the social media platform were “bribed” to grant admin access to his account.&nbsp;

However, not everyone agreed with the crypto influencer. Crypto analyst Miles Deutscher <a style="color: #0000ff;" href="https://twitter.com/milesdeutscher/status/1794796583185486003?t=zpvrWLkApMefQUfeY7S6_Q&amp;s=19" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">commented</a>,

 “GCR hacker fumbled the bag hard. Bro could’ve picked ANY believable micro cap to pump 10-20x, yet chose to shill ORDI and LUNA2 for a measly 10% wick.”&nbsp;

The GCR hack appears to be part of a broader wave of attacks targeting celebrity X accounts. Bitcoin developer and Ordinals commentator Udi Wertheimer <a style="color: #0000ff;" href="https://twitter.com/udiWertheimer/status/1794863806906237149?t=Off9U0BKMXlIfjtLuuQ-Cg&amp;s=19" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">warned</a> the crypto community in a recent post, stating:

 “GCR already told us today that there’s an operation going on hacking big Twitter accounts. As more niche celebs are popping up by the minute launching meme coins — on a long weekend when platform engineers are away — I recommend that you guys be very careful.”

Among the compromised accounts was that of American rapper Rich The Kid (Dimitri Leslie Roger). His X account posted a <a style="color: #0000ff;" href="https://x.com/richthekid/status/1794861111646605653" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">link</a> to his 2.3 million followers to buy a new token called “RICH.”
This token was launched on Solana memecoin creator tool pump.fun, and it amassed a $90,000 market cap within the first two hours of its launch, according to <a href="https://dexscreener.com/solana/aui2fpynsbhvykkv5turn2vf3zmzussr5mvhslotmcfy" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">DEX Screener data.&nbsp;</a>
No official statement has been made confirming whether Rich The Kid’s account was hacked, but the post was quickly deleted.
