Nym is its community and the community is Nym. Read on to learn all about the first winners of this year’s Nym community grants programme, which will help Nym scale the private internet.The Nym inbox has been bursting with excellent, highly relevant grant applications since the <a href="https://blog.nymtech.net/nym-announces-community-grants-programme-to-scale-the-private-internet-8436a5df883c" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">community grants programme was announced only last week</a>, and the first round of applicants have now been selected.Community is essential to Nym: community members operate Nym infrastructure, contribute <a href="https://mixnet.explorers.guru/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">tooling</a>, and integrate and develop <a href="https://github.com/notrustverify" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">apps</a> on Nym. They contribute community expertise as early adopters, and advance Nym’s vision by integrating meaningfully for local contexts and requirements. During this phase, the core team has carried out conversations with Nymsters and worked to build strong communications channels with the community.And now, without further ado, the first Nym grantees:<ul><li><a href="https://notrustverify.ch/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">No Trust Verify</a></li></ul>With Shipyard Academy V2 setting sail in September to make Nymsters into Nymjas, NTV will prepare dev onboarding materials, list new use cases for <a href="https://pastenym.ch/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Pastenym </a>and <a href="https://github.com/notrustverify/nostr-nym" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Nostr</a>, and expand additional guides for the journey. NTV will write how-tos for building censorship-resistant tools using NymConnect, and how to integrate NymConnect with the most popular Defi protocols.<ul><li><a href="https://pnproxy.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Pineapple Hive</a></li></ul>This grant will assist the Pineapple Hive collective in building out the Shipyard 2.0 community curriculum, plus creating starter articles for token ownership, node operation, mission advocacy and how to maximise the impact of Nym products.<ul><li>Observatory for Digital Democracy and Citizenship Rights</li></ul>A deep dive for the private internet for Latin America, including interviews with 10-15 people (activists, experts and officials) to develop Nym use cases and user profiles.<ul><li><a href="https://linktr.ee/Poppel" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Poppel</a></li></ul>Creating visuals for three core roles at Nym to bring the Nym Visionary, Nym Operator and Nym Developer positions to life including with modular profiles and banners.<ul><li><a href="https://github.com/huxian333" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Huxian</a></li></ul>Will be undertaking research and putting together insight reports on community token usage and improving UX and NYM token economics content.<ul><li><a href="https://explorenym.net/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Pawnflake</a></li></ul>Developing on ExploreNym including a plan for public releases this year, including shiny new dashboards and possibly personal notification systems.<ul><li><a href="https://tonyler.github.io/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Tony</a></li></ul>Will be translating work into Greek.<ul><li><a href="https://twitter.com/KSurnin" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Sur.Ki</a></li></ul>Will be creating a series of influencer videos to spread the good word of Nym.That’s all for now, folks.
