Founder and CEO of Pantera Capital
Dan Morehead founded Pantera Capital Management LP in 2003. He also co-founded and was CEO of Atriax, an electronic foreign exchange platform. Prior to that, he was head of macro trading and CFO at Tiger Management, global head of FX options at Deutsche Bank in London, and managed derivatives trading units and a global macro fund in North America and Japan at Bankers Trust. Morehead began his career at Goldman Sachs as a mortgage-backed securities trader. He graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and received the Carmichael Prize. In 2020, Pantera Capital announced an equity offering of up to $134 million.
On comparing DeFi versus Bitcoin: “It's much more likely that the entire DeFi space goes up a 100x over the next five years than Bitcoin.”
On Bitcoin price: “My common response is it's been growing at 209% for nine years, I think it's going to grow at least 209% over the next couple years and that puts you at $100 000, probably in two years; but I do think that will happen.”
