Kaby Arena is an upcoming play-to-earn (play2earn) video gaming launching on the Polygon blockchain
. It’s a turn-based, multiplayer battle game that is designed to be accessible to anybody.
In the game, players use heroes and equipment to battle both each other and enemies across a variety of game modes — collecting and upgrading their team as they go.
By progressing through the various game modes, players can earn in-game drops and resources, as well as a variety of other prizes for competing in different events. These rewards can either be kept to improve in-game performance or sold off to generate an income stream.
What Is Kaby Arena?
Like most blockchain-based games, Kaby Network features its own native utility token — in this case, the Kaby Token (KABY
). The token has several functions within the game, but it’s mainly used for paying for in-game gold (used to buy upgrades), minting NFTs (from items and heroes) and buying/renting NFTs from other players.
Kaby Arena is being developed by the Ziga Game Studio, which specializes in mobile and web games. To date, they have developed more than eight titles, and have amassed over 1 million monthly active users (MAU).
The development of the game is overseen by Nhan Bui (CEO) a former IT lead at RMIT with 10 years experience in virtual collectibles trading; Anh Phan (COO) a PhD graduate with a competitive gaming background; and Dung Vu (CTO) who has a decade of experiencing in product design and gaming.
Kaby Arena is scheduled to conduct its IDO on DAO Maker and Redkite on Aug. 31, the token generation event is scheduled for shortly after. The KABY token will be available on both the Polygon and Binance Smart Chain
(BSC) blockchains, and a bridge will be made available for cross-chain swaps.

We’ve compiled a brief list of options below to get you started:
How Does Kaby Arena Work?
By combining both free to play and play-to-earn game mechanics, Kaby Arena looks to target a wide range of player demographics — including those simply looking to play for fun, as well as those looking to earn a revenue from their in-game activities.
The game will use a mechanism known as “Crypto War” to help educate its free to play users about the unique properties and opportunities of cryptocurrencies, and potentially convert some of these users into play to earn users.
Kaby Arena combines elements of free to play and play-to-earn games to provide an experience where users can earn a real-world income simply by playing the game.
Inspired by turn-based battle games like Final Fantasy and Summoners Wars, Kaby Arena allows users to either progress through a PvE campaign or battle one another in the PvP arena. Players command their heroes, each of which has unique stats, to complete quests and earn rewards. They have the option to mint these heroes into NFTs.
To the best of our knowledge, Kaby Network will become the first blockchain-powered game to introduce market price fluctuations directly into the gameplay through its Crypto War feature.
With this, players will be rewarded for engaging with the crypto market, such as by predicting market fluctuations and learning about the market. This will allow players to unlock bonuses that will help them power up their hero to potentially provide an advantage over paid players.
Heroes come as one of five elemental types: Darkness, Fire, Light, Water and Wind — each of which has strengths and weaknesses against other types. All players will receive a non-NFT hero at the beginning of the game, which they'll be able to mint into an NFT if desired.
Since Kaby Arena will not require any upfront investments, it will need to employ a variety of anti-scripting mechanisms to ensure genuine players are not disadvantaged by bots. One of these mechanisms will include a random, rapid-fire task that will potentially unlock bonuses/debuffs/critical strikes, but could flag the account as suspicious if failed to execute multiple times.
Kaby Arena is currently in the early stages of development, but progress is expected to occur rapidly given the team's game development experience. According to the official roadmap
and marketplace functionality will open by September 2021, whereas the MVP of the game is slated for October 2021. Beyond this, the majority of the first version of the game is expected to be completed by December 2021.
What Makes Kaby Arena Unique?
In an increasingly populated decentralized game landscape, few titles have managed to bring to the table something truly unique.
Kaby Arena might be set to join the ranks as a potential gamechanger, thanks to an array of distinguishing features that could help it appeal to the masses and gain adoption.
Some of these features include:
Development by an experienced game studio:
Unlike many blockchain games, Kaby Arena is being developed by a well-known game studio that has produced numerous games and clocked in over 1 million monthly active users. This makes it well-positioned to develop a successful game that can be delivered to a large user base.
NFT owners will be able to generate a passive income on their unused NFTs by renting them to other players through a trustless marketplace system. These loans may be either collateralized or non-collateralized, ensuring all users can access powerful NFTs as and when needed.
No investment required:
Unlike several competing games, there is no initial investment necessary to begin playing Kaby Arena.
Users will not need to purchase KABY tokens or NFTs to play the game, but can earn rewards in the form of KABY and in-game assets by playing.
Multiple ways to profit:
As a play-to-earn game, Kaby Arena provides a variety of routes players can use to monetize their gaming experience — this includes selling in-game drops, minting and selling hero NFTs, winning tournaments, and battling other players.
Over time, Kaby Arena will also unlock several vaults that allow users to stake their tokens to earn a variety of rewards. These might include vaults for KABY, KABY-LP tokens, and a variety of Kaby Arena NFTs, whereas potential rewards might include KABY tokens and loot boxes.
Based on Polygon:
Kaby Arena will be one of the first play-to-earn games launched on the Polygon
blockchain. Because of this, it will be just as capable as Ethereum-based titles — albeit with dramatically faster transactions and negligible transaction fees.
Competitive e-sports:Kaby Arena will have a major competitive e-sports focus and will host weekly and quarterly events where users can battle to earn KABY tokens. Winners of the weekly events (known as weekly cup holders) will be able to participate in quarterly events, whereas quarterly event winners (quarterly cup holders) and top ranked players will be able to participate in a double-elimination final to compete for a grand prize.
