FTX's new management is piling pressure on politicians who received donations from Sam Bankman-Fried — telling them the funds must be paid back.

Individuals and political action funds that received contributions from FTX's co-CEO Ryan Salame, and engineering director Nishad Singh, are also in the crosshairs.

In a news release, the company confirmed that it is reaching out to beneficiaries confidentially — and they've been given a deadline of Feb. 28 to return the funds.

Donations can be returned voluntarily, but action may be taken in bankruptcy court should they fail to get in touch — with interest added on to the funds owed.

Some politicians have previously suggested that they have given the tainted cash they received to good causes — but FTX has warned this will not let them off the hook.

In interviews, the fallen entrepreneur also revealed that he made donations to Republicans as well, but kept these contributions secret for fear of a backlash from reporters.
