Former CEO of Bakkt, U.S. senator for Georgia
Kelly Loeffler is the junior United States Republican senator for Georgia. Loeffler is the second woman in history to represent Georgia in the Senate and now the crypto community’s highest-placed political advocate. Before taking public service, Loeffler was the CEO of Bakkt and also held a leadership role at ICE before that. Loeffler led Bakkt, a bitcoin spot and derivatives exchange servicing institutional investors, from its launch in 2018 until around the time she was appointed to the Senate in December 2019. Bakkt also developed a consumer-focused payments app integrated into Starbucks’ mobile payment system. Loefller’s husband, Jeffrey Sprecher, is the founder and CEO of ICE.
