Surprise A-Lister Asks Jimmy Fallon for Help in Buying His First NFT

Another A-lister has announced they're experimenting with digital assets — and you might not have had this name on your bingo card.

It's Anthony Hopkins — the legendary actor known for playing the psychopathic serial killer Hannibal Lecter in Silence Of The Lambs.

The 84-year-old has snapped up his own .eth domain — a tool that converts long-winded crypto wallets into a snappier, human-readable address.

And after changing his Twitter display name to AHopkins.eth, he did what any self-respecting crypto enthusiast would do: seek advice from friends.

In a tweet to Snoop Dogg, Jimmy Fallon and Reese Witherspoon — accompanied by a photo of him looking pensive — Hopkins wrote:

"I'm astonished by all the great NFT artists. Jumping in to acquire my first piece, any recommendations?"

Fallon responded with a reflective selfie of his own, and posted:

"I love your pondering photo. There's a bunch of great artists out there and it's a fun community in general. But, as the great Aaron Neville once said 'I don't know much - but I know I love you.' And that may be all you need to know."

The late-night talk show host then encouraged Hopkins to send him a direct message for more specific recommendations.

As you might expect, dozens of NFT artists have taken the opportunity to plug their collections in the comments.

But not all of the replies were upbeat about non-fungible tokens. Concoda, a vocal critic of the space, instead posted a link to an article they had written entitled Crypto: The Giant Ponzi Scam.

Hopkins' ENS address has since been gifted with a few NFT images from strangers, meaning his collection is already getting off to a flying start.
