South Korea has asked Interpol to issue a red notice against Do Kwon — with prosecutors claiming he is "clearly on the run."
The Terra co-founder allegedly fled to Singapore following the collapse of LUNA and UST, but police there have warned he is not in the city-state.
Kwon has said members of the public "have no business" knowing his GPS location — telling Crypto Twitter he'll only reveal where he is if they're friends or planning to meet.
Prosecutors in Seoul have alleged that he is failing to cooperate with an investigation into Terra's demise, which caused investors to lose tens of billions of dollars. But Kwon tweeted:
"We are in the process of defending ourselves in multiple jurisdictions — we have held ourselves to an extremely high bar of integrity, and look forward to clarifying the truth over the next few months."
Interpol allows police forces globally to cooperate with each other, and a red notice would involve asking law enforcement agencies around the world "to locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition, surrender, or similar legal action."
This, when combined with his passport being revoked, would make it exceptionally difficult for Kwon to travel internationally.
A spokesman for prosecutors in South Korea told the Financial Times:
"He is clearly on the run as his company's key finance people also left for the same country during that time."
Kwon is accused of financial fraud. He and five others are wanted amid allegations that they violated South Korea's capital markets law.
