The non-fungible token (NFT) market is evolving by the day. While early projects like Crypto Kitties and CryptoPunks may have paved the way for the sector’s growth, creators are beginning to think out of the ordinary.
In what can be best described as “spooky,” an NFT series that depicts mental disorders will be released this week. On the flip side, another collection is promoting mental wellness and meditation. An increasing number of NFTs projects are launching on the Solana blockchain, as the NFT ecosystem on Solana grows. Here’s a rundown of some of the NFT mints worth keeping an eye on this week.

BitColors NFTs

  • Price: 0.2 ETH
  • No. of Tokens: 1,000
You’d have to agree that some of the most popular NFT collections today are based on profile pictures and characters. BitColors is quite unique in this regard, according to 500 NFT "experts". It is a collection of 1,000 handcrafted colors. Imagine being able to own and trade colors.
Interestingly, BitColors has already recorded significant success in its sales, with a plethora of influencers getting on board. Commenting on a previous sale, Dan Bed said:
“Today’s 200+ BitColors were sold within 3 min or so and that is with huge net fees on top of it. That’s what happens with great projects.”

Beyond owning colors, the team is looking to promote BitColors to a mainstream audience through collaborations with artists. They have collaborated with the likes of the Romanus Numerus NFT collection, Butterflies Museum and The Hours.

Sol Disorders NFTs

  • Price: 1.5 SOL
  • No. of Tokens: 3,333
While seeing NFT collections inspired by popular television series — like the Desperate ApeWives, or ones dedicated to iconic personalities — like that of Marvel comic book writer, editor, publisher and producer Stan Lee does not come as a surprise, a series depicting mental disorders is definitely out of the ordinary.
Sol Disorders is a collection of 3,333 unique mental disorders. It claims to be the first escape game and riddle project on the Solana blockchain and hopes to become “the biggest treasure hunt creators in the Solana NFTs community.”

As for the gameplay, there are several puzzles and enigmas to solve. Solving each enigma reveals a word. By gathering all the words, a player unlocks a seed phrase that gives access to a wallet full of SOL. The first player to resolve every part of the treasure hunt will win the entire pot, currently worth 27 SOL.

Interestingly, there is already a working prototype for the first season of the gameplay. Season 2 will be launched in the coming month, with S1 NFT holders enjoying special benefits.

IX Panthers NFTs

  • Price: 0.065 ETH
  • No. of Tokens: 10,000

Who doesn’t love big cats? This NFT collection arguably draws its inspiration from the 2018 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character the Black Panther. However, the collection is not just about Panthers. There are lions, tigers, jaguars, snow leopards and a golden ape.

“IX Panthers is an NFT project that attempts to merge high-quality PFP art with a roadmap strongly focused on bridging the gap between the real world and the digital one. The Panthers' team has put in place partnerships with specialists in the Metaverse, AR, creative industry, and in immersive events to deliver first-class utilities to their community while they build ‘The Secret,’ an ambitious project that attempts to create new mythology on blockchain and blur the lines between the ideas of metaverse and real-life experiences and community.”

While the above description from the project’s website sounds quite abstract, token holders will have access to AR avatars, gamified mechanics, a private metaverse, live events, and high-end figurines in the future.

SolMandalas NFTs

  • Price: 1 SOL
  • No. of Tokens: 3,333

If an NFT series of mental disorders seem quite extreme to you, then one promoting calmness and meditation might tickle your fancy. Surprisingly, the number of tokens for Sol Disorders and SolMandalas are both 3,333 each. So, you can balance every mental disorder NFT with a calming animation.

SolMandalas touts itself as the first live algorithmically generated NFT artwork hosted on Solana and Arweave. Every NFT in the series has its own live generative algorithm and can be viewed forever on the blockchain. The design is brought to life through a combination of symmetry, balance and movement.

Another interesting aspect of the artworks in this series is that they respond to the time of the day. The NFTs begin to spin during daylight hours, becoming more active until noon. They start to calm down in the evening and night hours.

Speaking of the utility of the NFTs, 20% of all minting sales will be channeled to a community wallet that will be used to provide practical real-world utility within the ecosystem. For instance, scholarships will be offered to a few lucky token holders to “improve their meditation practices.” Furthermore, at least 22 SolMandala NFT holders will receive unique light sculptures that will bring the project to life in the real world.

That being said, PAWNSHOP GNOMIES is the first NFT lending protocol on Solana. With a collection size of 5,000 tokens, users can use their NFTs to obtain loans.

The primary mission of the project is to create financial services and passive income sources to benefit community members. These include profit from the DAO-based NFT Pawnshop, royalties from secondary market sales, priority queue at future NFT sales and additional incentives in liquidity mining programs.

“The Gnomies’ NFT Pawnshop is a DAO-driven decentralized lending protocol built on the Solana Blockchain. It is designed to allow users to get instant loans from the protocol’s pools against their Solana-based digital assets. The protocol is ruled by DAO, whose members are the users holding one or more NFTs out of the Pawnshop Gnomies collectible.”
