Wow. So wealth. Very money. Much bank. Wow.

Elon Musk has overtaken Amazon’s Jeff Bezos to become the richest man in the world — and according to Bloomberg, he now has a net worth of $188.5 billion.

Yet another surge in Tesla’s share price is behind Musk’s elevation to the top spot.

He appeared to learn the news from a rather unlikely source: a Twitter account called Tesla Owners of Silicon Valley. Musk wrote:

“How strange. Well, back to work…”

Musk later said that he was constantly on the lookout for ways to donate money that make a difference, but complained that finding such opportunities is “way harder than it seems.”

The entrepreneur, who also runs SpaceX, has had rather mixed feelings about Bitcoin. He caused a frenzy on Crypto Twitter after asking MicroStrategy CEO about whether large BTC transactions are possible. He went on to refer to Bitcoin as “bulls***.”

Despite this, Musk has regularly tweeted about Dogecoin, an altcoin that was started as a joke several years ago. DOGE has often spiked following his tongue-in-cheek endorsements.
