Solana set a new all-time high in daily token issuance on Sept. 10, with more than 263,000 new Solana Program Library (SPL) tokens minted in a single day.

The figure dwarfs the previous peak of 40,000 to 50,000 daily token launches recorded during the height of the meme coin cycle in December 2024. The data was reported by blockchain explorer Solscan.
The record came on a day when total token launches across launchpads reached 40,360. Memecoin platform Pump.fun accounted for 34,184 of those, representing the large majority of launchpad-driven issuance. The remaining launches were distributed across other platforms in Solana's launchpad ecosystem, according to data from Blockworks' dashboard.

Pump.fun Drives the Bulk of New Launches

A launchpad allows creators to design, launch, and trade tokens without deep technical knowledge. These platforms automate the token creation process and provide immediate liquidity and visibility for new coins. Pump.fun has become the dominant platform of this kind on Solana.
In the 24 hours surrounding the record, Pump.fun generated $1.8 million in daily revenue, making it the highest-earning Solana-native protocol by that measure, according to DefiLlama. The platform briefly lost its daily revenue lead last Friday to trading app Fomo, which blends cryptocurrency trading with a social media-style feed. That gap closed quickly, however, and Pump.fun returned to the top spot.

Pump.fun's Role in Solana's Revenue Picture

Pump.fun contributed $124 million to Solana's total network revenue of $342 million in Q1 2026, accounting for roughly one-third of the chain's earnings during that period. That share came despite a broader cooldown in meme coin trading activity compared to the frenzy seen in late 2024. The platform's outsized contribution to both token issuance and network revenue underlines how central it has become to Solana's on-chain economy.

The Sept. 10 record raises questions about what is driving the surge in token creation. The 263,000 figure includes all SPL tokens minted on the network, not just those launched through platforms like Pump.fun. The gap between total mints and launchpad-tracked launches suggests a large portion of new tokens are being created outside of public-facing platforms.
